About the team
Our story
Casita was founded by five women - mothers and educators - whose core desires focus on the importance of family and just how remarkable children are with their ability and capacity to do things extraordinarily.
We stepped back and asked ourselves these questions: What is our fondest memory from our childhood? What was most valuable to us when we were children? Do we have a special moment when we were truly happy when we were about 2, 3 or 5 years old?
Our answers would probably be a reflection of yours - it was when we were in the yard playing; when we were running around playing tag with friends. Or when we were building something with a parent or a sibling; when we painted on the floor or all over the windows; when we splashed about with water or played board games at home. Many of us will remember a time that we were playing -- a genuinely fun moment that we experienced as we explored and found the meaning of the world around us while at play. And yet, many of us have forgotten this truth. We have forgotten the need for unhurried and meaningful play. We have forgotten just how much we grew as children, through play.
This is the reason we built our Casita. Our dream is to nurture children’s sense of wonder and protect the value of family and importance of play. We strive to partner with parents, educators and organizations as one community, working together to preserve the essence of childhood and build strong foundations for the holistic growth of our little world changers of tomorrow.
Working together on Casita makes work feel like play.
